The GE Merlin-3038333 carbon pre-filter reduces chlorine and sediment to prevent fouling of the reverse osmosis membrane.
(only capatible wth Pentair PRF and Merlin systems)
The kit includes:-
1 x Carbon Pre-filter (PN 1237460)
1 x Carbon Post-filter (PN 1244746)
This filter uses a modified carbon block with fibredyne technology to provide 3 times the sediment reduction of a traditional filter.
Replace this filter every 6 months or after 10,000 gallons of use (whichever comes first) to extend the life of the reverse osmosis membrane.
This filter will remove chlorine and sediment down to 5-microns to protect the membranes. If your water supply contains unusual amounts of sediment and/or chlorine or you find that you need to change this filter too frequently, it is recommended that you install additional larger scale prefiltration prior to the Merlin System.
